Description

Position Overview Creates, presents and implements design concepts according to the client's spatial needs and wants. Job Duties & Responsibilities Project research, client presentations, sales consultations, implementation management and concept development that can includes scale models, charts and reports. Prepares proposals, renderings & schematics as required to submit to the client & other relevant authorities. Time management and attention to detail are two significant qualities of the interior designer. Responsible for reviewing design drawings issued in-house &/or from partners, as well as overseeing and managing the in-house design department. Responsible for all drawings control, archiving all design drawings & site photos. Responsible for ensuring that the design process and procedure is being followed and maintained from start to finish. Applies technical standards in conjunction with brand standard details and advises & prepares technical details wherever necessary. Rectifies all the discrepancies by means of co-ordination with franchise appointed architect as well as in house designer. Communicates with team members in all areas of the Design stage for a specific project. Issues rectified design layouts to Q.S for B.O.Q preparation. Responds to queries arising out of site conditions and present technical solutions advice to site engineers/contractors. Might oversee a team of designers for a project based on the design plan. Requirements At least a bachelor's degree in interior architecture. A master's degree in interior architecture will make you more competitive. Proven experience in large scale projects development, project management and design consultancy. Preferable experience in Kuwait and/or Gulf Countries. Other Skills/Abilities Strong written, oral and visual communication skills for interpreting verbal instructions and suggestions. Creative within the constraints of a budget, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of computer design software (including AutoCAD) and familiarity with building codes and design standards is also required. Illustration techniques is a must.
